Intentional Knitting: Designing from the Heart with Catherine

Class meets on Saturday, October 5 from 9am-12pm.

Suitable for ages 18+

Join Catherine as she takes you through her design process. Learn how to experience your knitting on a deeper level creating a project that will create a lasting talisman you can wear and feel grounded in. Learn how you can formulate your own ideas and gather inspiration from nature, books, art, symbols and your own experience in the world. Learn how to transfer natural elements into stitch patterns and how to formulate your concept for your design and your meditation for your knitting. Your knitting will become a metaphor for what you are experiencing in your life at this moment. Create your own stitch motifs and incorporate them into a cowl pattern or keep them for a larger project. If time allows, begin swatching your stitch motifs. Learn how to add words into your project as reminders of your intentions.

Intermediate to Advanced Level

Prerequisite: Knowledge of and experience with colorwork.

Materials: Water Colors, paint brushes, colored pencils, watercolor paper, graph paper, eraser, 2-4 colors of fingering weight yarn for swatching. Size 3 or 4 single point or circular needles.

Cancellation/refund policy:  No refunds will be offered within 1 week of class.  Cancellations prior to one week before class are eligible for store credit.  Cancellations are subject to a $10 processing fee and your store credit will be the balance of your class fee.  Your credit is not eligible for refund.  Classes do not include individual Make-up sessions.  If your teacher has offered to schedule a make-up class and you have scheduled to be there and do not show up, then your make-up class is forfeited and will not be re-scheduled.  Visiting teachers' classes are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.  We run these classes based on enrollment...paying in advance for visiting teachers to travel and hold workshops and can not offer any credit for any reason.  Please be sure of your schedule before registering for any class.  Thank you!
