This beginner-friendly class will introduce students to the sewing machine and foundational sewing skills, including machine threading, bobbin winding, stitch selection, seam allowance, backstitching, installing elastic, and sewing straight seams.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAfter learning the basics, students will use their new skills to create their own scrunchies. Participants will have the opportunity to make multiple scrunchies during the class, giving them plenty of hands-on practice while creating something they can take home and wear.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eStudents are welcome to bring their own pre-washed fabric if they'd like to use something from their own stash. Recommended fabrics include cotton, quilting cotton, linen, lightweight denim, satin, or silk.
